November 24 - Happy Thanksgiving!

Two weeks before the races - Yeah!

Fun fact, this is the 14th year AORTA has sponsored the Toys for Tots races.  We are very excited to have the Auburn JROTC partnering with us this year.  There will be over 30 students from Auburn on the course.

If you have never participated in a race before you might want to take advantage of the early packet pickup at Big Dog in Auburn on Friday.  This will be from noon until 6:00 CST.

If you are not able to do early packet pickup please be at the high school by 7:00 to get your packet.  We are using chip timing for the 5k and 10k, provided by Big Dog.  This means the results will be available at the end of the race.  We will post the link to the results on this page, on the Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/160366804004035/), and on the AORTA web page (http://www.auburnrunning.org/).

There will be prizes for both the 5k and 10k (top 3 in age groups, both male and female, and masters).

Every participant is required to bring a toy.  PLEASE DO NOT WRAP THE PRESENT.  The marines will be coming to take the toys to the local Toys for Tots chapter after the race.  They need to know what the present is so they can get it to the right age group.

We will have a photographer taking pictures.  In your packet will be his card with the url of where you can view/purchase pictures.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.

Have a great Thanksgiving and see you soon!

November 17th - it is getting really close!

Major stress - only 3 more weeks.  Each year I stress about the races and this year is no different.  I always worry that either no one will show up or there will be a horrible storm the day of the race, blah, blah, blah.

I have extended the Active on-line registration until Saturday, November 23rd.

I really have to get the shirt order in next week.

Linda has confirmed donuts from Square D and Yo Cakes from Chill.  She is still working on a few more vendors - she is so good.

Gloria is getting some fruit from Kroger.

We should have plenty food at the finish line.

Just found out that DJ Majesty will not be able to make it:(

Hope you are having a great Sunday.

See you soon.

November 3rd - only 5 more weeks!

Ok, we are starting to get close now.  I am just starting to stress.

Everything is going great so far.  Lots of people volunteering so the courses should be all set.

Bob, my husband, has ordered the mugs for the race winners.

Big Dog is all set to donate gift cards to the top winners.

Aubie is confirmed for the 1 mile race - as long as Auburn does NOT make it to the SEC championship game.

Linda is working hard to get us some great treats (food) for the finishers.

Kent Smith is set to take pictures.

DJ Majesty (Mac McCracken) is set to play us some music.

Should be a great time!

PLEASE REGISTER EARLY!
